Living with Idiopathic Hypersonic and Bipolar Disorder

I've got bipolar 2 but my main symptom now is going from sleeping 14+ hours a day to accidentally staying up a day or two in a row... I take a stimulant (Adderall XR) and it works fine for me, and I'm also on an SSRI (Lexapro) and neither made me hypomanic. So if you haven't tried a stimulant it's worth a shot. If you have... Rip. Modafinil is a "wakefulness promoter," not a stimulant, that might be worth a try. Made my life hell tbh but I know others have had luck with it (just beware... If it seems like you're getting worse, it's making you worse! Even if it helped for the first month!)

hi :) i’m also bipolar and i am on wellbutrin. although it throws some people into mania, i got lucky and it works very well for me. it’s not a complete cure as i still am sleeping A LOT but it’s a lot less than i was before
