Dealing with Idiopathic Hypersomnia: What to Expect

Recently got told there's a very high chance that I have idiopathic hypersomnia and will be doing appropriate tests soon, both already scheduled, and I just was wondering what any kind of "treatment" is like and how it also could affect my anxiety & depression...

Unfortunately, there aren’t many treatments that are specifically for idiopathic hypersomnia, but there are different things you can try. I’m on Adderall primarily for my ADD, but it definitely helps with my daytime sleepiness. Nuvigil and Provigil have been useful for some people. But it’s really just about getting enough sleep, and allowing yourself to rest when you need to. I’ve had to just learn to push through the day even though I’m tired.

I used to take modafinil for mine and it was very helpful unfortunately I cannot tolerate the medicine any longer so I rely on caffeine and making sure I get enough sleep at night
