How do you let go of a toxic friend whose ableism really impacted you and has been benefiting from your trauma (both they caused and others caused)? I just want to let go of this person and move on. They haven’t messaged me back for a year and based on their previous actions if they give a fuck again theyll be wanting to catch up again (while acting like ghosting me wasnt painful for me and I wasnt having anxiety attacks over them the entire time). I really loved this person but if Im gonna move on I need to do it soon because I cant focus. And I have no idea what Ill say to them if they do message back.

Well in pagan and when I want to let go of someone I would do a cord cutting ritual but everyone does it differently. I don’t know how to let go of someone any other way

it's okay to acknowlege in your heart that they may be dear to you for the rest of your life-- despite how they treated you. letting go is a long process. don't feel guilty, but you have to acknowlege the lost love in your heart before you can move on for better relationships that will treat you worthwhile (in my experience)
i would say block them everywhere possible so they can't find you if they decide its time to be friends again ? at least as a first step
So you haven't heard from them in a year? I'd say you're pretty cut off from them. I've cut out both friends and family. I focus on the relief I feel not having to deal with their toxicity. I think of all the nice thoughts I can have now. It also helps to have a support system that can help pick up the slack from the cut relationship
