Does anyone else have the problem where wherever they feel an emotion, there’s a part of their brain that undercuts it and invalidates it. For example, I had an associate pass in tragic circumstances and it made me sad but my brain started telling me that my sadness was fake, that I was being dramatic or looking for attention. It’s super frustrating because it happens constantly. Every time I try to explain how I’m feeling to anyone, my brain always tells me I being manipulative.

I know its the worse honestly 😫
Yep. It’s common if someone did that to us growing up. Our brain fills in their voice when they’re no longer there.

@IndigoBro I swear even when no ones around I think I’m manipulating myself. Maybe we all do

@IndigoBro exactly ! I’ll feel like everything is some super complicated plot of manipulation against myself somehow? And the worst part is I am fully aware of how illogical it is but I can not shake the feeling.
I have something similar like I would feel sometimes emotionally and my brain will be like "are you sure?" and I genuinely do feel whatever I am feeling but the way I process both parts it make me feel robotic. I can feel something without my brain sometimes telling to stop pretending 🙃 I hope that makes sense
@deepblubottom I get what you mean it’s just so odd, like I’ll know I feel whatever I feel but then my brain will undercut my emotions
