I physically hurt my significant other last night out of anger. I slamed the car brakes hard, and he hit his head on part of the door frame. He cried so hard and said he didnt care where i went but just away from him. I didn't mean to hurt him, I just wanted him to stop talking about the situation I was embarrassed about. I instantly went to thinking he was going to leave me, and I feel like I can't make the situation better. I feel really lost and not sure how to feel still.

Sometimes people say things in the moment that reflect how they are feeling, but word wise are not the things thy want to manifest. Perhaps he has other underlying issues with you? Stuff to work on maybe, dig deeper!!!

I would suggest sitting down with him & having an honest conversation. It might so some good. But I do think that's the first step. Be reassuring and comforting. Words matter, especially with your significant other.

@moonbear we talked about it the over the last few days, and I've cried every day since it happened. He thinks a major part of my anger is related to my stressful job. I had a therapy session over the weekend; we have started working on mindfulness.
