So here’s my issue today. My partner has issues with expressing herself and she’s been slowly opening up. Today she tried being more of herself and it’s was a part of her that usually comes more out in her aggressive moments and I didn’t react like I should have and now she’s upset and I’m upset with myself for not being what she needed which was supportive instead of an ass. She’s been crying for over an hour and I feel terrible. I can feel the dark thoughts of myself slipping in and music isn’t working as it usually does. Besides apologizing which I’ve already done what can I do to not sink into a pit and to help prevent this from happening?

These are always the most difficult situations. I wont say that I know for sure but if you've already attempted to comfort them and show that you're sorry but it didn't work, then you might just need to give it time. Let them think and give them space. Let them come to you when they want to find a solution and make things better.

I think that you could try to talk to your partner, or you could do something for them. Whatever makes them the happiest is what you should do. Tell them why you reacted that way and tell them that you where wrong. I really hope you will be okay
