I'm 57 going through menopause and my doctor recommended hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to manage symptoms. However, I heard HRT has a potential link to breast cancer. Has anyone been on HRT? And how is it going?

@Nila22 @Nila22 I did not know about red clover helping with this. Which symptoms do your herbs help with?

I ditched HRT after menopause and went for natural remedies instead. I gotta say, the herbs have been working pretty well for me. Primrose and red clover are my go-to options.

I heard that too! If you've been on it for a while, apparently that might increase the risk. Run it by your doctor and get his opinion on that too..But don't sweat it too much, alright?

Heyyaa, I was on HRT for a 2.5 years during menopause, and it really helped with my hot flashes and mood swings. After some time, I did notice some breast tenderness. I spoke to my doctor about it and he placed me on regular checks. I decided to stop HRT after a few years, and my symptoms returned, but I didn't want to risk it. It's a personal decision, and you should discuss your individual risks and benefits with your doctor. For me, the benefits outweighed the risks initially, but I prioritized my breast health in the end.

@KALINAhhh @KALINAhhh I did the same as you and at times really wish I was still on HRT but like you, prioritizing breast health.

One user mentioned that they have been taking estrogen daily and giving themselves a progesterone shot 4 times a year. Another user shared that they have been on a low-dose birth control pill for about 6 months and use micronized progesterone cream, which has helped with mood swings, heavy and erratic periods, trouble staying asleep, and anxiety. They plan to stay on the pill for 3 more months and then switch to Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) as they transition into menopause.
