how do I know my therapist is helping

this is kind of just my opinionnnn hahaha BUT i always thought therapy wasn’t working for me until i realized for myself that it’s not the therapist that’s necessarily helping it’s really yourself! you’re structuring yourself and organizing your own thoughts and telling your own story when you go to therapy so all of the answers are inside of you, the therapist is there to help you get out of your head and be able to see all of the pieces of the puzzle so that you both can find a way to put all of the pieces together in your own personal way! there’s not one right way to use therapy or to help yourself be on the right path, my advice would be to just go with the flow and take everything you can get from your experience and say anything you feel like saying to your therapist (THOROUGHLY) because another thing i realized over time was that therapists are not even close to mind readers so things that seem normal in my own reality and perception, aren’t, and explaining things in detail and with as many reasons as you can think of is the best way to get all the puzzle pieces out faster! consistency is key period!
