Seeking Answers on Gastroparesis Causes

How do you know what caused GP? My doctor didn’t tell me the causes in general nor why or how I have it

Can you help? Connect today

It's from damage to or malfunction of the vagus nerve Most common reason for the nerve damage is long term out of control diabetes. Mine happens to be idiopathic which means they don't know what when where or why I have the damage to the nerver

Sometimes you can’t find the real cause. I have idiopathic GP as well, I have yet to figure out a cause for this. My doctor thinks stress brought it on but who knows. It can be because of other medical issues, surgeries, diabetes, stress, there’s a lot of reasons/causes

Any surgeries on the abdomen. I don't have my gallbladder and that is what caused my GP and then at the end of March of 2022, I had my appendix removed(emergency surgery) and that has made my GP 10X worse than what it was before

It can be the result of nerve damage from Diabetes or idiopathic/autonomic which may not have a specific trigger or cause.
