Has anyone else delt with this? My doctor keeps telling me my liver enzymes are high. First was last summer and she told me to stop taking Tylenol and ibuprofen since I was taking both often for my pain. So I did. Just got labs done last month and it's still high. My next appointment is next month but in the mean time I'd really like to learn from other people's experiences. If you've delt with this, how was it solved? what was the cause?

a lot of things that i’m thinking of either A. (hopefully) would’ve been checked by your doc and/or B. would show other symptoms that you probably would’ve noticed. things i’m thinking of: different forms of Hepatitis (again, i’m sure your doctor would’ve ruled those out. hopefully. if not, maybe time for a new doc??), a thyroid disorder (again, other symptoms would probably be showing first, but i’m not a medical expert, i just happen to have a thyroid issue haha), Wilson’s disease (rare and also hereditary), some muscular issues, certain viruses, etc

I have fatty liver. I understand that it’s a very common cause for abnormal elevated liver enzymes ….

OMG! I have the same question. My liver enzymes have come back as high and I’m confused how to go abt it
I do recall an er doctor saying my liver enzymes were high and his exact words were it could be something or it could be nothing. I’m wondering based on other people’s responses if high enzymes is a response similar to pain.

I had high liver enzymes to the point where they ended up doing an mri to check everything out but this was either right before or right in the middle of me getting my crohns diagnosed so my stomach problems were causing my liver to have issues, it resolved after getting me on medications to control the crohns
I ended up having my gallbladder removed but also have a fatty liver. Still need to see a specialist about that last bit but I’ve been sick a lot and had to cancel. 😬
When my liver enzymes where high it was because I had a gallstone. This doesn’t provide much help but you could check with a GI? You may be having issues with your gallbladder
