guys, I'm on Adriamycin and I've lost all my hair. It's pretty depressing when people stare at me whenever I step out. It's really affecting my confidence and making it hard for me to interact with people. Has anyone else dealt with this before?

@JudeEvanss @JudeEvanss I have found being able to speak with others who can relate, such as in a community like this one, helps us feel better about ourselves too. We truly are stronger together!

So sorry to hear. Being around my loved ones really helped me feel better about myself. You will find yourself again, be patient with yourself, and find love in the people around you. Big hugs!
Your story is so similar to mine. I was also on Doxo, and lost all my hair. It was a real struggle for me to feel confident without my hair, so I relied on wigs to feel good and fit in. I mean, I wouldn't even step out of my house without my wig on! But then one day, I thought to myself, "Screw it, I'm gonna rock my bald look!" And you know what? It was liberating! I started accepting and loving myself the way I am, and it boosted my confidence like crazy. Trust me, it's not about how you look, it's all about how you feel. So consider owning your bald look, love yourself, and be confident xx :)
@MuaniJameson @MuaniJameson It is about how you feel and I love that you are rocking this!

One person shared, "I was diagnosed with alopecia at 8 and it's been a rough journey especially since I'm a female and hair is like a girl's beauty. I grew depressed and self conscious because of it... Over time I've adapted to it and it doesn't bother me but I always wish I had it and that it'd re-grow so I didn't have to wear a wig." Another person mentioned, "after a month of chemo and I am shedding everywhere... im just sad". They received responses such as "Watching my hair fall out was really tough and made the whole thing feel more real and scary. It's okay to be sad about it, and it's okay to grieve this change" and "Losing my hair was a shock to me too... What helped me was focusing on the fact that it meant the chemo was attacking not just my hair but the cancer cells too."
