My grandma just got really mad at my gpa bc he couldn’t get up from the chair fast enough to open the door for her (she couldn’t find the key to the front door and my gpa has bad knees making it hard for him to get up quickly or at a normal speed). She got in and they started arguing and my gma called him an asshole. I didn’t have an anxiety attack bc of this luckily, but it made me have a flashback. My abusive exs used to call me names like asshole, bitch, slut, whore, cunt, etc. It makes me feel terrible, but idk why it made me feel terrible when my grandma said it to my grandpa. They weren’t even talking to me. I just don’t know anymore.

Someone being called a mean name around you may be a trigger. The weirdest things trigger my ptsd and flashbacks so it's really hard for at least to control that. My only suggestion is maybe talking to someone about it or trying to get out of situations like that altogether. Hopefully this helps! ❤❤
