so my girlfriend and i have been together for a year and 5 months but almost a year ago i found a new friend, him and i had similar interests and style and stuff like that but he kinda did get me into doing drugs, not that he ever told me to do anything or brought me anything but him doing them was enough to make me also wanna try them too. about a month later i overdosed on xanax and ended up being grounded for like about a month, but she basically put the blame on that friend, let alone she didn’t like him and i hanging out before that happened either, but she made me block him and not be able to talk to him but we would still occasionally text through messages and hang out sometimes, we weren’t doing anything bad we would just hang out like normal friends, we wouldn’t even do drugs like that anymore but yesterday she found out and is saying that’s like if i were to cheat on her (which she did before but i tried to forgive and forget) but she’s making it seem like i did something illegal, i was only hanging out with a close friend. my girlfriend is kinda controlling too like yesterday she got mad at me for wanting to go on a field trip because their might be other girls there and because she thinks i “don’t want to see her” the truth is i do want to see her but she always gets mad at me for little things i just want a little break, but i just wanna get your guy’s opinion on who’s in the wrong or just thoughts in general

Oh sorry I just saw your age, you said field trip so I assumed you were still in high school/a minor. My bad
It sounds like your girlfriend is far too controlling. I’m sorry you’re going through this. It would be one thing if she was just concerned for your safety, but to me it seems more like she feels she has the right to control you. It’s healthy to want to go see other friends and hang out with people that aren’t her, someone that close to you should want you to have lots of friends and have fun things to do. If you have an adult you trust and respect it could be really helpful to get their opinion on the situation as well. You deserve good things :)
