Hi, I'm 77 yrs. Old. What happened to me a few weeks ago scared me so much. I guess it was unusual so I'd like to share. My doctor had been so proud of me. My A1C had been wonderful for weeks. I could even cheat now & then. I guess my mind was playing tricks on me. I thought to myself, since my numbers are so good I thought it would be okay to stop checking my numbers. We'll, I ended up having 2 seizures. Both times it was in the 30s. I could have died. My med was glipiside (sp?) I was still taking my med. Needless to say, my doctor was very upset. He's now taken me off the glipiside. My daughter has been awesome. She's bought me several books on diet & cookbooks. I'm still tempted to not check my numbers. Crazy what the mind can do. Take care. Thank you!

It takes a while to adjust to the new numbers. Everytime I made a big change it was killer. I stopped doing a sliding scale and went to 1 unit per 15 carbs plus 1 unit for each 10 I need to drop in numbers. It works best for me so far.
I completely understand some days I just wake up feeling like I’m just doing a routine not like I’m actually present in that moment. The brain fog and not to mention how many times I go to grab something and can’t feel it. My doctors have switched my meds around so many times I feel like I’m apart of the walking dead some days 😞
I'm now to this group.
I'm good how are u
