How do you fold laundry????? It is my absolute biggest struggle ever. I can never find the motivation to fold my clothing and it sits in baskets for days. It is the only thing I procrastinate on and it’s honestly one of my biggest struggles. It’s so hard to bring myself to fold laundry it makes me wanna cry.

I have a radical approach… I don’t fold! I just sort into different drawers and hang up things that will wrinkle. Everything is still clean and I know my wardrobe well enough to find things almost instantly. I know it isn’t for emery one, but with ADHD modifying your routine may be necessary.

If it’s just too overwhelming for me to do I just pick through the basket when I want something from it or just sort it where it goes without folding, doesn’t always work but definitely helps

To us, we just don’t care if it’s folded. There’s no real reason, if we already know where it is! We put it up in designated drawers (undergarments in one, shirts in another, etc) as they are and that’s that!

Another thing that helped me: I learned how to fold my laundry like Marie Kondo does. It felt like a challenge or a game at first to get it right, and it helps my drawers stay better organized.

I have found it’s helpful for me if I either do all my laundry on the same day of the week every week (Sunday is my laundry day, and it’s part of my routine now.) OR if I do laundry more frequently than once a week so the loads are smaller and it takes less time and feels less daunting to fold and put things away.

The YouTube channel called How To ADHD has so many helpful tips for things like this I would definitely recommend her channel! I use her laundry system and it works super well for me!

Put it in your way like on your bed or someplace you actively use. Reward yourself after folding and putting them away like a treat or something. Listening to music helps me along with watching TV.

This is my biggest cleaning struggle too. I absolutely hate putting them away. I've found that if I can get someone to help me even if they aren't doing that much that it motivates me to get it done fast.

Try doing it when the clothes are right out of the laundry! I love hugging the nice, warm clothes to myself while I fold them. It's very comforting

Takes ages but usually I can trick myself into doing just one and then my brain does the “it’s all or nothing, babe” thing

throw that shit on ur bed and force yourself to do it— but treat ur self after. it takes me weeks or months to fold my clothes they’ll sit in baskets until I do this for myself

I always listen to music or save a certain show that I only watch while I fold laundry that way I get to enjoy something while getting the thing done I hate most!

@Renay98 Same here! Listening to music, a podcast, or a Spanish lesson while folding and putting away laundry makes it much easier for me.
