Hi all! I recently told my boss that I needed to take time off of work to take care of my mental health (I’m having a massive breakdown) and was mysteriously fired after. Is there anything I can do? And also I was recommended for group IOP… was that helpful for anyone else? Thank you!

Ooo I loved my time in IOP! Take that time for yourself to build up your coping skills. Really be open to the things IOP has to offer! My two cents! And I hope you have a good experience if you decided to participate!
Group IOP was really helpful for me. Helped me make friends with ppl that understand and on the same journey to managing better and healing. I made some of my best friends through different IOPs and they’ve really helped me to accept and love myself better because they saw me differently than I saw myself and I felt comfortable enough to be vulnerable and let my mess be seen. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows but I would recommend it and do it again. Just be careful with who you let in, not everyone in groups truly want to heal or the best for you but really that’s everywhere. About your job, I’m so sorry that happened. That’s like a nightmare coming true. I pray you get the help and recovery you need and find somewhere that is better suited💕🙏🏻 I work in the legal field but not that area. Yes you can do something but it really depends on the circumstances and if you can prove it. Otherwise you’re just going to end up wasting your time and resources and feel left even more drained unless this is a hill you’d choose to die on. If it were me I’d probably move on because I’d get wrapped up in fighting that rather than focusing on myself, which it sounds like is what you were wanting and/or needing in the first place. Either way I support whatever you choose.
