Every now and then I fall "in love?" with fictional characters. I know its a pretty normal thing..i just don't know if it's normal to this degree. I yearn for them, I feel devastated that they aren't real and I can't hold them or talk to them and love them and make each other feel safe. They will turn me on, consume my thoughts, dreams and emotions, i think about them all throughout the day and my internet history is full of them to the point of anxiety, and depression from not being able to be with them. I am in a long term relationship with a wonderful guy and I often feel guilty that he doesn't make me feel the same way as the character. I don't know if this is my OCD or not but it's almost like a borderline obsession since it will consume me. Is this my OCD taking it further than it should.Does this happen to anyone else? How do you deal with this and why is it happening? How do you find relief?
