I feel like such a hypocrite. I'm always trying to help other people and give them advice but I ignore myself and my problems on purpose so I don't have to deal with it at all. I just feel like I'm pretending for everyone else constantly

I totally understand. I’m sitting here on this app giving lots of recommendations while I am still sick. It makes me feel good to think I helped someone though, so I’m not going to stop!

I used to do this chronically. I was so involved in helping everyone and longed for people to reach out to me but I was so depressed. I was physically and mentally so unhealthy but helping other people distracted me from helping myself. It wasn't till about 2 years ago that I really started taking care of myself. The important thing to remember is that you can't help anyone if you yourself are not healthy. It's like a lame person trying to help another lame person walk, it just doesn't work. Focus on yourself first and you will be able to help others better.
