i found out that my girlfriend doesnt like doing anything that i like doing. this sucks because i feel like she's been lying to me, and that every time we spend time together she hasn't enjoyed herself. she doesnt like to go out or do anything except drink and play video games. im not sure what to do.

communication is KEY!!! try to find compromises that allow the two of you to spend time together while also doing things you like. my ex LOVED marvel, while i was sort of impartial to it. she would put on a movie while i played my games, and we’d check in on each other now and then— but it was mostly just spending time in the same room, doing our own thing. try not to jump to conclusions about what she liked or hasn’t liked doing with you, and definitely plan to have a conversation with her about your feelings. good luck!

Another way to look at it is she wanted to do those things with you and enjoy your time together. How did you find out she doesnt enjoy doing the things you do?

i'm on the same boat as the first comment by superstellar! communication is the way. ultimately, it's hard to find someone who has the exact same interests as you, and even less so such people who you end up in a relationship with. my ex loved cosplaying, while i had no money or friend group for it. i like watching comedy skits, while she didn't have as big of an interest. having different hobbies can be a good way for you and your partner to have healthy boundaries between each other when needing space to be alone. just be sure to communicate about what you guys need! that difference can also be a good way to explore each other's interests and lives; it just takes some mutual open-mindedness. with that same ex, she and i ended up combining our hobbies: i'd draw her cosplay ideas or browse for items she could use online, while she put together youtube playlists of funny videos and SNL skits for us to watch together. i think it just takes some open communication and willingness to bridge the gap! good luck :)
