I need some advice. I’ve been with this guy about 7 months I was so excited and happy I was with a nice guy who respects me and doesn’t get possessive over me. But also he doesn’t show much affection he is so involved in his video games and I’m not judging. I’ve explained we don’t spend time together nor have conversation the same. I don’t what I’m doing am I just comfortable? Is this what’s best for me? Am I settling for less? I don’t have much relationship experience. And if I left I have no idea how to say it I don’t want to hurt a soul ever in my life. Im so stressed in life as is. My heart is starting to act up extremely bc of my anxiety.

@Scorpiostelliem I feel like I’m starting to loose interest like the spark is gone

How do you feel about him? If he did start showing you more attention and affection would you want to stay or are you moved on too? If he cannot have mature discussions about your needs and care that is definitely not good and maybe he’s not ready to be in an adult relationship. Video games may be an addiction, but also there are ways to keep that and make you feel wanted. If you want to continue to work on relationship, maybe couples therapy with a neutral third party can help

You are by no means obligated to stick around in a relationship where you aren't happy... however have you tried playing a video game you like with him to maybe join him in his interest or explain that you aren't happy that he's spending so much time gaming and it's affecting your relationship and that if he wants to stay with you then he needs to show interest in your hobbies

@Honeybee1849 I’ve tried communicating how I feel I’ve tried playing the games with him. I can’t sit there for five hours at a time nearly everyday playing games.

@Lotus_Lourdes then tell him you've had enough and he and the games can respawn elsewhere...and you can start living your life without his addiction because playing 5+ hours a day everyday is an addiction and when you end things with him make it clear to him that his gaming addiction is part of the reason for the break up

If he cares about you he will accept that you're just not enjoying the relationship. I left a similar relationship for even lesser reasons this year and there's no hard feelings between us.

@Motley Dating is to test things out, it should never feel like an obligation!

I used to experience that exact feeling too until I was completely shattered to the core from my last long term relationship that happened 5 years ago

@LindyLou I just don’t know how to handle the situation I’ve tried communicating he’s not a terrible guy he’s not means I don’t wanna stay and be hurt and unloved but I don’t know how to leave I’m not good at these things
