I'm a college student in my first year and I'm beginning to fail dramatically. My parents are paying for my first year so I don't only feel like a charity case, I feel like a financial detriment. However, seeing as I'm the only one of my siblings to even graduate high school, let alone go to college, and the fact that they themselves elected to pay knowing it might be frivolous waste, I've earned what I have from working the best I could through everything in spite of my mental health. You can't think you're a disappointment, because somewhere, there's something they're proud of. Whether it's making it this far, having what you have, or some kind of other achievement. A disappointment is someone who has brought nothing. You've absolutely brought something, even if they don't see it.
