Does anyone experience talking to someone and not able to pay attention to what they are saying? Like your thoughts are taking over your mind and you have a hard time hearing/listening to them?

      Yeees. And the harder you try to focus the less you retain like they may as well be speaking another language. But you're to nervous to ask them to repeat themselves so you struggle even harder to catch up to what they're saying....

      Yes, both when my anxiety is high and in just regular every day conversation. I constantly have to ask my boyfriend to repeat himself. And if the TV is playing at the same time, I don’t know what either one is saying. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Therapist recently told me I probably have ADD in addition to anxiety. Wouldn’t surprise me.

        @GenL I wonder if I have undiagnosed ADD 🤔

      I dealt with this a lot in high school. My anxiety was so high that I was consistently dissociated because my brain didn't know how else to cope. I barely graduated because I couldn't pay attention in classes.

      All the time. I am constantly asked "are you listening to me?" And I have to tell them "I am, but my brain isn't". People who know me accept this answer, people who don't usually go on the defensive.

      This happens to me from anxiety and also my cancer meds.

      Yes! I always seem to look at them and nod, but end up looking past them and not paying attention. It's usually when I'm stressed and have alot on my mind.

      Yes, I have experienced that before. I had severe anxiety for years. Panic attacks 4-5 times a day. I figured out the underlying illness that was causing these feelings. It was my hormones, a b vitamin deficiency and a condition called POTS. I got off birth control, balanced my hormones naturally and I am doing a POTS protocol and haven’t had that feeling in a while. I’m not saying that is your issue, however, it wouldn’t hurt to see a functional doctor to rule anything out. Because I was always so anti psychiatric medicine and wanted to figure out the root cause and heal myself naturally.
