Exercise and food choices. Otherwise, medication. Try to avoid carbs and sugars when possible. Be aware that eliminating sugars completely can lead to trouble, as well.

We are working on metformin for me and checking my blood sugar every morning unless I don't have test strips and then I walk and dite and just watch what I eat
I do a lower carb diet. Not necessarily keto but less processed foods, more protein. I have seen a change in my a1c by mostly sticking to under 50 carbs each day
@vmartinez6 do you 💬 I could try that?
@Brittanymholman you definitely have to learn to read nutritional labels. I would recommend looking at the nutritional label for what a serving is. Then you can look at the total carbohydrates on there and stick to whatever number you decide. I try and stay below 15 for a snack and below 30 for a meal and it has helped me. If I eat lower carb than that in a day my numbers are definitely better. Maybe you can reach out to your doctor for a referral to a diabetes educator and a nutritionist if you can do that. It has helped me tremendously to talk to someone who actually understands what I go through every day. My diabetes educator is probably the most important person on my care team.
Go whole food plant based no oil. It worked for me. Lost ten pounds and my blood sugar have been below 110 ever since.
@Simba22744 how can I do whole food with no oil?
