I feel like I'm struggling more now with narcolepsy than I ever have. I can hardly wake up and it's eating up most of my day. I take medication but it's hard for me to remember to take it while I am awake. does anyone have advice on how to get up and moving?

I would struggle at first also but since I've been taking meds in the moring for as long as I can remember if haven't really bothered me but have u thought about keeping them like in the bathroom or on the otherside of the room that way u have to make yourself go take them.

Put your morning medication next to your bed and put your phone/alarm clock on the other side of the bedroom so when the alarm goes off you are forced to get up to turn it off

I get "wake up calls" from my friends. Put my ringer all the way up, and on vibrate. I will talk on the phone with them in my sleep but in doing so I kind of wake up and usually realize I'm not dreaming anymore as I speak with them, and then they just repeatedly remind me to get up until I climb out of bed. It really helps me break out of the heavy sleep I get stuck in. I also have an alarm clock called the "sonic bomb" that comes with a bed shaker that helps me.

When I wake up I always have to get up to pee anyway, so when I do that I’ll challenge myself to walk around a little bit and try to get myself moving (not exercise, just movement). I also find that Im most awake between like 8 and 10 pm so that’s when I try to prepare for the next day. I’ll set out my outfit for tomorrow and pack a lunch for work the next day if I really have my crap together. Once I’m walking around I can usually convince myself that I might as well keep going, although this doesn’t always work! Drinking really cold water in the morning helps too. Honestly if I never had to get up to pee I would probably never leave my bed.

If you don’t want to add a medicine the only way I’ve been able to actually be awake is if someone makes me put my feet on the ground anything else I can talk my way out of
I can’t hype up this medicine I’ve been on for the last 6 months enough. It’s called journay. It is for ADHD technically but you take it at night and it is super slow activating and will help to wake you up 10 hours later. It helps me start my day actually knowing that my alarm is going off and it breaks through some of the extra morning fog. It’s really pricey but if you ask your doctor to look at coupons it only costs me 15-20 a month. It has honestly changed my life

If you live with anyone, have them ask you questions while they wake you up. It makes me more alert faster and I can sometimes stay awake longer

I'm sorry I don't have any advice but I'm definitely in the same boat with you fam hit me up if you ever need someone to talk too about it
I'm struggling there as well. Got bad during the pandemic and I find myself exhausted just trying to figure out how to do things. I might try getting a visual timer and see if setting it so I can see how much time goes by while I sit idly helps.
