Chronic Pain

I totally deleted my fist comment because I wanted to be more detailed. My pain started in that exact spot, but then radiated down my leg. It turned out that I have arthritis and bone spurs in both hips and sciatica down my left leg. I have a hard time sitting on anything hard, and I absolutely can not sit on the edge of anything on my left side. I would say @Kingwife is very knowledgeable and on point with what she has to say. Your doctor will probably do an x-ray first and then run the needed test from there. Just be persistent. I had to go to 3 different doctors before I found one that took me seriously. Trust there is someone out there that will listen to you.

When you go in you need to ask for testing and imaging specific to those areas. It could be a pelvis or spine issue so an MRI would be appropriate but they may need to do an Xray first. A sure way to get it is to bring a checklist of your symptoms and a checklist of reasons why to get imaging/testing and show your doctor you do qualify for imaging. Also, the most important part if they are still not listening, you need to ask them to note it in your chart that they will not order the imaging even though you have "" symptoms AND tell them you want a printout of that statement and will sit in the room until they give it to you- no matter what. Often this asserts the doctors to change their minds and order imaging, and if they do note it, there is a record that they are not practicing ethically and can be sued or have their license revoked. Most often it wont get to that level. But at least you have it on record for when you do. Then you can find a new provider or have their boss order it for you.
