Dealing with Chronic Back Pain: Seeking Advice

I've been having really bad back pain for a while now. I saw a spine specialist who had me do an mri and I'm seeing him today to discuss the results. another doctor I spoke to looked at the results and said it might be arthritis but he can't be sure. I don't want to have arthritis obviously but part of me would be relieved if I found out that's what I have because then at least I'd have an explanation for my pain. has anyone else dealt with this sort of situation before?

Can you help? connect today

Dude I'm literally in almost the exact same situation. Going to a doctor today to discuss the possibility of arthritis/rheumatoid arthritis.

I understand I have those same feelings. We don’t “want” the condition we just want an explanation for the pain. I totally get it.

This is soo true. You just want answers and even it’s a terrible lifelong condition you at least know why. For me since no treatment has worked my doctor thought that I had Munchuser’s basically said that I was faking. So I hope that you get some type of result friend

I am so sorry to hear that. There is a reason for your pain. Just because a doctor didn't see anything in the results doesn't mean you're crazy or doomed. This is frustrating and feels like a set back. But I promise you, if you're in pain there's a reason. If you need more encouragement feel free to message me. Praying for you 🙏

I am so sorry friend. I am in the same boat. Nothing ever shows up on my tests so I always feel crazy.
