The only positive things in my life are my job and my relationship with my son. My wife doesn’t respect me. I can’t afford to leave. I worry every waking seconds. I just cannot cope

Sometimes it’s okay to leave a toxic relationship. If you physically can’t leave, emotionally leave. I’ve had to do this many times in my relationships.

Thanks for responding. If my parents had room, I’d move out tomorrow. I’m trying to look for a friend I can move in with. My wife has anxiety and refuses to take care of herself or go to therapy. I don’t trust her and haven’t been given a reason to. She’s 43 and the most irresponsible and immature adult I know.
Sometimes the toxicity of the people we are around can induce the symptoms. The best thing is to separate yourself from negativity and toxicity. I was with mine for 19 years and recently separated and its a breath of fresh air. One day at a time and things will work out.

@NonniJ this is how I'm feeling now, seeing triggers, noticing gaps, the pause is removing all this negative energy. The air is fresh and it's opening up new ways of communication. I think if I continue to focus on myself, that is the best thing for our son, her, and myself. Couples therapy has helped too. 👍 With a child she will always be a part in our lives. Its tough, but I'm learning love can look different at different times. 😥
Hey story resonates. Been going through trouble with wife - just lots of heavy air, 12 years of built up blah blah blah. We also have a 4 year old son he is my world and I am primary care taker as we go through temporary separation this month and continue therapy navigating possible future state. April I wqs a wreck, May I fought my past , but ened with my power back. June I am looking to keep communication and living the best me with my son. She will see what was walked away from. I don't say that as any kind of slam to her or rude. I just mean this space has been making me a better person and we both are learning again how to respect and treat each other. It's been emotionally draining. Just keep busy and limit any ruminations or thinking of possible outcomes. Be you. Your best self now and let it ride
Dude don't sweat it ....this might be bad advice but if wife don't respect you find someone that will and if you can't afford to leave then do what you gotta do low key for some time ...and don't stress about it cause she don't respect you anyway ..keep that in mind .....everything works out ....
Hi , I have the same where I have only some thing to look up to in life but I realized I other things to be happy about to. Try and find something to say tht was good about ur day. It always helps me
