Hi everyone, I live in the UK & I love using my powerchair to help out my family by running errands for them since there Isn't much else I can do to help them. So on Sunday my sister rang & asked if I could run down to the local train station to top up my nieces pass as the only shop which did it was shut. I waited ages for a bus & 2 came both had Wheelchairs on so I waited for the next one. This time the driver came to the door & said I can't let you on cos I already have 2 pushchairs on board!!! I went mad! (Wheelchairs have a priority space which pushchairs have to vacate if it's needed) telling him he was in the wrong & that I'd just had to rightly miss the last 2 buses & that I had the right to get on & if he didn't allow me on i wanted his name & registration number! anyway 1 of the pushchairs got off whilst swearing down the phone about it meanwhile an elderly man tried to stick up for me & another passenger turned on him! I did finally get on the bus but it was so embarrassing much more than usual & it's made worse when the rules are written on stickers on the wall of ghe wheelchair section & no one bothered to read them which made me look even more stupid! I've never been more embarrassed & all I was trying to do was help someone out! has anyone else had anything like this happen to them?
