TL;DR: It sucks being a person with a disability requiring accommodation in the workplace. Words of wisdom? Advice? Comfort? Support? pls?! I just started a new job last week and the first real issue came up today related to my migraines. My usual start time is 9am but in the interview process and learning about the job, I was told that there are days when I may need to come in earlier - I assumed like 8am. maybe 7 at the EARLIEST. But I was told today (Mon) that I would need to be in at 6:30am on Wednesday. I can't move my wakeup time back that much without risking triggering a migraine. I told my coworker (who is my superior, but not direct superior) and she was nice about it telling me that I can miss this run but that we should find a long term solution. I emailed my manager a rather long message explaining what triggers my migraines and asked to meet to discuss accommodations. Now I feel so... bad. Like I'm asking for too much or they'll be mad at me for asking for accommodations. I worry that it will call into question how well I can perform my job. Idk, it just sucks, ya know? Anyone else go through something similar? Words of wisdom or advice or just share your experience?

Just explain what you find are your triggers and how they can help you work around them safely.
