"Having a healthy support system with my partner and friends who are willing to communicate really made the biggest difference. Working on being aware of and working through bodily sensations as they arise has also been helpful. Finding a therapist who understands trauma and PTSD, who is actually present for my pain and offers another perspective while being empathetic has been beneficial. Slow exposure to things that trigger me has made it easier to deal with when I need to. Spending time with my pets, walks by myself or others as well as mindless activities with friends or loved ones can help. Grounding techniques, CBT and DBT have also been useful."
