I’ve only recently discovered how fucked up my family is. Any advice on how to deal with a narcissistic parent? I’m going to move out no matter what in April, but oh boy am I scared. Any advice? I’m only 21. About to turn 22.

Be prepared for the flying monkeys your parent sends after you. Be aware that they won't change and protect your peace, if they start acting out don't react. Look up Grey Rocking. I wish you luck

My family is much the same way. I moved out at 18 and my mom has been in and out of my life since. The hardest part was needing to cut certain people out of my life. I promise you it will be ok. Make sure you have a support system outside of your home that you can lean on.

Totally get you here!!! Once you realise that they are the problem because of their insular toxicity, things get easier. I follow Patrick teahan on Instagram. He has really helped.

My advice, cut them out, but from experience you have to make them fall out with you or you'll be harassed.

Based on the experiences shared, some advice includes moving out and cutting off family to find peace and lower depression. It's also suggested to sit down, find things you like to do, talk to a therapist, and do some self-care. Another person advised moving somewhere closer to your parents so that you have the freedom of having your own place but can still visit if you get homesick.
