is there anyone else out there who has a bad rest of their day if they get yelled at and lectured in the mornings? if so what do you do to comfort yourself and cheer up? and how can I tell my spouse to not jump down my throat first thing in the morning without starting an argument. I don't like conflict and I don't take being yelled at well at all... thaaanks...

I’m the same way. My trigger is getting yelled at. My therapist and I are working on this. He told me to remember that I’m safe in that environment because I can always walk away, stop the conversation, etc. I have the power to do what I want, and so do you! You are safe, no matter what it feels like. If you actually feel unsafe because it has been unsafe in the past, please tell a friend/mentor/family member or trusted person so you can get safe!! But if it is a yelling situation and you are not in any physical harm, you have power like I mentioned. It is amazing how much that can help! Also it helps to work on communication techniques.
Yes, mainly criticism about work
Tell him to get over it.That mornings are your time You're a helpmate not a doormat. You don't say what age group you're in but such things come with age. I know it's hard to do,but let it roll of your back. Ask him what's really bothering him,as some, will lash out over silly things or a nagging pain, not realizing, that is what's at the root. Been there, and,we all can be irritable if we don't feel well. Figure out what started the argument and how many days of the week does it happen. As to get through your day,put on some good music,if you can Play it in your care on your way to work,if you work outside of your home.Put yourself in a good mood before you walk thru those work doors . Talk to someone if you can,if not him.I can go on forever on this subject. God Bless!!!
