I am super discouraged after my second ER visit of the week, this time for lower right abdominal pain aka what is this knife sharp pain when moving, eating, etc. that’s similar to what endometriosis felt like before my hysterectomy. Basically they told me “you’re fine go home.” I now suspect my MCAS bc I have more standard stomach/GI issues with it but not like this. I’m really struggling to accept this as my new normal but have no idea what will help. Any thoughts? Appreciate anyone who read this whole thing. ❤️

I was hospitalized many times with lower abdominal pain. Finally saw gyn surgeon. We decided to do hysterectomy. He decided to open me up completely to get good look. He found my entire abdominal area full of adhesions. He said my uterus was stuck to itself, tearing each month during period. He also noted my intestines were covered in adhesions. He felt the pain was from the adhesions tearing. I did not have a mast cell diagnosis at the time but adhesions are common for mcas. 11 years after he removed my uterus/cervix, I started having debilitating pain again. Went back to him. He removed my fallopian tube and ovaries second surgery. He said adhesions had covered all and he had to cut my bladder free of adhesions. Adhesions do not show up on most imaging.

Have you ever had a GI MAP test?

Gosh, I feel this. I don't wanna worry you, but did you know endometriosis can still come back/cause pain, even after a hysterectomy? 😬 Hopefully that's not the case, but I figured it was worth mentioning! It's scary enough to have to go to the ER, but when they don't have an answer, it feels even scarier (to me, at least). Your pain is valid!! 💝

Do you take anything for it? I had been waking up with bad stomach pain and they started me on Cromlyn and I don't wake up in pain like that anymore (now I just wake up not wanting to get up due to extreme anemia)

@Monkey1980 I take cromylyn 4x per day, cyprohepdatine 2x per day and pepcid 2x per day but am still in pain all the time, sadly. Saving up to see a MCAS specialist who doesn’t accept insurance but she has no appointments til September 🫤

@KT_Lane I also take protonix for stomach ulcers and that has kept my stomach pretty well protected from anything, but I've been on that over ten years and only knew about the MCAS a few months
