Dealing with a Pushy Dad

I've had a bad relationship with my father ever since i was young. He's an alcoholic. I was hospitalized last year for suicidal tendencies and had a plan. When i was in the hospital with my mother (my primary guardian) she called him to let him know. He was drunk screaming at her for things out of her control. When i was in the hospital, I realized I don't owe him anything. And i bluffed and gave him an ultimatum saying he could stop drinking and we could try to have a relationship (which i didn't want). My best advice is if you don't want to see him - don't. If he's not a good person to have in your life - f him LOL. Just because he's your parent doesn't mean you owe him anything. It's been over a year since i've had words with him. I'm 20 now for context.
