To preface, I was in an awful flare around the holidays and finally got out of it a couple weeks ago. This week I’ve had my thesis due for grad school and finally passed it in last night. Today, I woke up feeling horrible. I feel like every muscle in my body can’t relax and is restless, as a result (i Can breathe but) breathing is just uncomfortable. I feel like it takes effort. My head is also pounding. It’s like my body was running overtime this week to help me work and now it’s making me pay. I can’t even take a nap to rest. Any suggestions on what helps you get ahead of a flare? Electrolytes, water, salt, but I’m desperate for more suggestions. This is not how I wanted to celebrate graduate school. Also has anyone’s body ever held on for busy times like this only to crash big time? I feel like I’m making it up just because of the timing of it. (Although I know im not)

Congrats on finishing your thesis! Def had this happen to me too, it sucks big time. Whenever my body gets super fidgety/hr being funky, I like grabbing rlly cold water, like, coldest possible and a straw. Drinking it nice and slow helps me cool down, literally and figuratively. And even if I can't take a nap, sometimes just lying still in bed with stuffies and blankets can help, you are resting, it just isn't sleeping lol! Those are what help me, you're gonna do great!

Yes, I've definitely experienced my body holding on to get through stress or something big, then crashing. I wish I had suggestions, but I'm just getting started on my own POTS journey. Good luck! Congrats on turning in your thesis!
