Grounding yourself is the best thing to do in those situations. If I’m in the car or stores, I try to look for the letters of the alphabet outside the window or on packages over and over until I’m home. It also helps to get something cold on your back like an ice pack or water. It might help if you have something to fidget with as well or put a show or music on.

Practice some sort of self care like a bubble bath or something you do just for yourself to make yourself feel better.
I've had this happen in the middle of work before and I had to get my doctor to intervene and she was extremely helpful in recommending a non addictive medication I could take whenever It was needed. It honestly all depends on the situation and what you want to do about it.
