I had my first MRI yesterday, after 15 years of chronic life-altering symptoms and running tests, and they discovered a lesion in my brain. I have much more testing ahead of me to figure out what's caused it, but I feel like I may finally be headed in the right direction. These last few years, as my symptoms have worsened, I've felt insane. Everyone around me told me to stop pushing for answers. I suggested to my parents that I could have something neurologically wrong, and they laughed in my face and told me I've always been anxious and dramatic. They told me to "stop googling." Even the neurologist was hesitant to order the MRI, I had to practically beg her. These results had me in tears. After years of masking and being told I don't look sick enough, I finally feel validated in my constant pain and fatigue.
