how do you handle going to the store? I'm trying to get Christmas presents, and just being in the store by myself gives me severe anxiety.

      I order what I can online delivery or for pickup. If I have to go in I go when it’s least busy hours (weekdays before 3ish here), know what isle the stuff is in that I’m looking for, take someone I know and trust with me, and use loop ear buds or headphones to cancel out as much noise as possible. I thankfully also know some ASL so my girlfriend and I can communicate without having to speak at all. It makes it easier so I can tell her if I need help or want to leave

      I always bring someone with me and I have some heavy duty headphones that I can listen to music with.

        @Boo2004 I'm okay ish if I have someone with me, but since I'm getting presents, I can't bring any of my family, I don't know what to do

          @catlover55 maybe have a rotation of different people? It sounds silly but I do it during the holidays myself, I'll go to the same store twice with different people each time so no one sees what I'm buying them.
