I personally take my meds and practice my DBT Mindfulness as often as possible. It makes dealing with certain issues a little easier when you meditate as often as possible. Dbt is a pain, but it's worth it!

I had to remove myself from a relationship with the person I kept splitting on. Our relationship was too intense and it became toxic. It sucked a lot but that, plus moving out and generally living in a better situation, made my symptoms drop to nearly zero. I'm now able to talk to that person and be friends, but it's kinda awkward because I don't know how much they've forgiven me for...
