A couple times a year since I was 12 years old(so the last decade) I have had episodes of severe GI pain. The episodes only last about an hour give or take. GI doctors have never been able to diagnose me. The pain is so severe in these episodes I'm curled up on the floor screaming from the pain unable to move. Sometimes the pain is so bad I feel like I'm going to vomit or pass out. Does anyone know what this might be? Any ideas at all? or suggestions on how to find out what it might be? I've posted this before on Facebook pages and such but I just keep asking about it in case I can finally get some sort of answer.

I understand. It can be very challenging as these things are not cheap and not covered by insurance. Vibrant is a good one. Idk vibrant's cost now but I think GI Map might be cheaper but can only ordered by a practitioner. There's alot you can do prior to any testing, such as looking at your diet and lifestyle factors. Example, some people are very intolerant to gluten and notice resolution of gi pain simply from cutting it out. Other people have gut infections, bacteria parasites, which causes low grade issues for years until they become more problematic and cause systemic issues.

Have you ever had a functional stool test or test for h pylori? Functional medicine is another world and I can provide more details if you'd like. But when I hear undiagnosed stomach pain h pylori is one common causal factor.

@Smileys we've had a few similar theories in the past. Growing up we thought food allergies because I have like 20 of them (literally), and then at one point we thought it was parasites because they found parasite eggs in my stool but we treated it aggressively for a while along with Lyme and nothing changed. I should mention I've also had weird nausea stomach episodes that usually last a month where I can eat or keep anything down and one time me and my naturopath thought gastroparesis. I drank the elemental drink stuff for 8 days and it no longer caused me issues. But that was a separate thing aside from these pain episodes in my lower GI tract

@Mcmeadow did your naturopath do botanicals, antibiotics or both?

@Mcmeadow oh! Okay so you're working with s naturopath so you prob know a lot of ehat I said below about parasites etc. They're hard to eradicate. Lyme is tough. I have mold illness and am about to treat a parasite and h pylori found on my tests. During my first round one functional medicine I didn't know I had mold so the parasites are still an issue and they will be until mold is gone.

@Smileys interesting. I will look into that. I've been trying to do the gut zoomer by vibrant America for yearssss but I somehow can never come up with the money to do it because I'm poor and on SSI and the gut zoomer is expensive out of pocket.
