Intense Abdominal Pain Twice a Year - What's Causing It?

Does anyone else get really bad bouts of intense abdominal pain a couple times a year? It’s almost like clockwork, once in August and once in December. It doesn’t seem to be brought on by anything in particular, but for a couple of days I’ll be in so much pain that I can’t even extend my legs and I spend the whole time laying in the fetal position. Last time I was able to sip on broth, but it took me 8 hours to get a cup down because it hurt so bad to put anything in my stomach. My doctor has shown no concern whatsoever but it really freaks me out. Anyone know what’s causing it?

I do get more GI issues in the fall around end of October and I'm really not sure why. My stomach hurts pretty bad occasionally though I haven't noticed a pattern

Maybe it has something to do with how heavy most holiday food is? Thanksgiving can cause smaller flare ups of a similar pain for me pretty frequently. Plus the holidays are stressful. I can’t figure out why I get them in the summer too though.
