Hello. My lupus flared a month and a half ago and it's the worst I have ever gotten it. It's brutal. I'm struggling to work, sleep, parent and participate in life. I don't have insurance, can't afford out of pocket, but even if I did the Western medical approach doesn't seem to help. I am usually not good at participating in online communities, but I feel helpless. Any insight would help.

Penguinn, I don't pay anything for mine! You need to go to their site and fill out an application for their patient assistance program. Your doc will fill out part 2 and they will see if you qualify.

Do you potentially qualify for Medicaid? Other than traditional medicine which can be expensive, I started acupuncture to help with pain and while I’m not sure I believe in it fully, it did seem to help. A lot of cities have affordable acupuncture where it’s done in a room with other people. If you’re able to get on a marketplace plan and try benlysta, you can use benlysta copay assistance to pay for benlysta and then the amount they pay counts towards your deductible and out of pocket which makes all of your healthcare more affordable in general.

      Have you tried Benlysta?

@CheetahGirl benlysta is great, but unfortunately very unaffordable without insurance

I understand you and how you feel, and I have also had tough moments since my diagnosis 3 years ago. There is always hope and a way out. God is real and he understands your pain. I was in a coma 2 years ago, but I am still here living one day at a time. I will keep you in my prayers.
