I lost my dad, going on 3 years ago this October, tonight/this morning I was so heartbroken he was taken from me so soon after not being able to see him for 5 years since I was in the system, I had a breakdown just holding his flannel screaming into it asking why he was taken 3 months after we started to talk again. He had stage 4 pancreatic cancer and he had to fight so hard, but he couldn't cheat death this time. I guess whoever / whatever higher power needed a hero. I still question to this day why he was taken so soon. I'm trying to live with the hurt but it hurts so bad. he wasn't my biological father but he stepped up to the plate when I needed one. Anyone else have someone like that in their lives? so special you consider them a parent? if so and you've lost them I'm here and I'll listen.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your dad was a good person for stepping up and raising you. I lost my aunt on Christmas Eve to a rare autoimmune disease.

i’m really sorry for your loss. my paternal grandma passed less than a year ago and she was more loving to me than my own mother. i just didn’t realize how much i need her until she was gone. i’m in so much pain over her being gone that i still don’t know how to deal with it. now that she’s gone i don’t have that mother figure in my life anymore that my mom just can’t be and i keep expecting it from her only to end up disappointed over and over again. grief for a loved one is a lifelong process and the first couple years are the hardest

Hey. I promise losing someone close to you like that gets easier. It hurts like hell for a long time, but it gets easier to breathe through. ❤️
