I've developed a fixation on my blood. I like making myself bleed. I know it's not good. I don't know what it is about it; it's only when it's my own. Partly because of the pain, but it's moreso seeing myself spill red. When I see my blood pour, I want to see more of it. I haven't self harmed in a long time. When accidents happen & I see a wound bleeding, I have this overwhelming urge to continue/worsen it. How can I stop this fixation? I feel like I'm in a completely different place of mind when it's happening. "Disconnected" from my former.

Hmm. I was tempted to do this myself time and time again, you have no idea but was able to find a way to not do it. For me, I watched horror films and such, as well as one that opened up my eyes alot to this issue, Texas Chainsaw M. I didn't know until later it was based on a true story and it hit me to realize what that kind of thing can do. It helped me realize that when stuff like that happens it can not only hurt people physically but mentally to. I can only imagine what that poor woman has gone trough. I was never aware my interest to close attempts on the subject could lead to so much heart ace. So everytime I'm in that urge, I remember what I saw, and remember what it can result into. To keep it under control, I've played graphic video games that I know is a guaranteed 100% fictional scenario but still had my urge go up to down after a while knowing I'm not hurting anyone real and then I'm calm. Another thing that was helpful for me was to see food in shades of red and cut them open, knowing that is far better to have than....well you know. Strawberries and cherries especially are a good choice as well as super juicy things. šŸ˜‹ Again, this is what helped me, find a peaceful way to help you. Maybe a doctor or someone you trust. You do you.

SH can be an addiction, it's best to resist the urges and find something else you can fixate on if possible
