Does anyone feel like they have either a missed diagnosis or mistaken diagnosis and may have ASD? (Autism Spectrum Disorder) I personally have a strong family gene for autism, and both my brother and I are diagnosed with ADHD but show several signs of ASD.

@potatochip, that's so infuriating to me that that lady was even practicing at all, I'm so sorry you went through that! You deserve a WAY better specialist. (And like, females not being able to have PTSD? That's literally crazy, man!)

I’ve been miss diagnosed with bipolar depression and I just know that I have ADHD!!!! It’s so frustrating because 👩⚕️ drs we’re i live suck and if you have bad medical 🏥 insurance it don’t help us to get good 👍 😢 drs or medical and medication 💊’s, either. Sad 😔 but true fact because my internist doctor she’s a MD & she has said those same facts that’s why she joined her own private practice we’re she can help everyone she can without discrimination of medical insurance and health issues. Thank goodness 😅 for the very few we have left of solid 100% drs left. Thank You 🙏 Dr 👩⚕️ name unknown. ❤️ 🤗 🙌 💝

Yes!! I’m being evaluated in May. I was originally diagnosed with ADHD at 9, but I have a lot of autistic traits. I’m still not sure, but I’m definitely on the journey. Interestingly enough my ADHD brother also has lots of ASD traits.
Yep, wondered about it for years so read as much and learned as much as I could. At this point I don't see any harm in self diagnosis. If you benefit from learning about it and advise from autistic people is very helpful for you, hold on to that.

Yes, I wonder about it. I was actually supposed to be tested at 17, but the woman only used the Connor’s CPT, and nothing else (no questions/interviewing, observation, other tests, etc.). The Connor’s CPT is an ADHD test, it does not test for Autism. She also ranted at me for 45 minutes about how much she dislikes, “all of her other clients,” and how she doesn’t believe females can have PTSD, neither of which were relevant. I was in special needs classes for 4 years in school for speech therapy, so I wonder if they made any notes that I could get my hands on? I just have so many questions... I am considering having testing done by someone more reputable. I can relate to wondering about a possible missed diagnosis.
It could be.. my step dad is almost 60 and was diagnosed with ASD just this year. And my sister who is 30 was too. We had no idea (I mean, it just didn't occur to us) but now everything makes way more sense
