I feel like I have autism but when I got tested I only got diagnosed with adhd, and tbh while that does answer some questions, there are still come that aren’t answered like sensory stuff, social communication, interests etc… any one else feel this way?

All of those symptoms do overlap with ADHD, they're incredibly similar. One of the noteable differences is how we do tasks, people with ASD typically struggle to move from one task to another whereas people with ADHD can struggle with both fixating on a task they find interesting or moving from one task to another before the first is complete. Since I have both it presents as me doing multiple tasks at once and then being upset if I can't manage to complete all of them, with the alternative being getting distracted by one task, usually something non productive and interesting to me, and not stopping all day. It's possible you have both or it was misdiagnosed but I would suggest looking into both and their overlapping symptoms and other people's experiences before moving forward to make sure first because it's also entirely possible that you are having symptoms that you didn't realize is also part of ADHD. It's talked about less for some reason.

Same here. I went to get testing for autism and was told I had PTSD and auditory processing disorder. I find it very difficult to transfer my symptoms and needs to medical ppl.

@Paladin that’s what I do at least
@Paladin my boss who is a psychology nerd and has ASD gave me the advice that you know your self better than anyone else. With that information, you should go around telling people you have autism without and thorough diagnosis but if the situation is appropriate you could bring up that you may have social and communicative issues that’s being untreated

Well being diagnosed with adhd is actually pretty big. It shares a lot of similarities as autism in many ways and sometimes the symptoms overlap each other. Sensory/social communication/interests and etc are actually a huge with people who have adhd (such as myself). There are a lot of pages on instagram dedicated to why our brains work that way and make fun videos that I relate to. Now it is one of the more misdiagnosed/misinformed disorder (or whatever you feel comfortable calling it) so you may be right and you might not have adhd, or maybe you do along with something else. My advise would be to talk about this with your doctor and do some research on adhd, So you know exactly what questions you want answered. Tell the doctor about your concerns but if you feel they are not listening to you and dismissing you, find another one. Trust me. Be your own advocate ❤️
