Will anxiety medication work if I'm constantly around triggers?

will anxiety medicine do me anygood if I'm around things or people who constantly give me anxiety? I am on medication now but it's not working and my doctor won't do anything to help me so I have been looking for a new doctor for a week and a half now. please help my anxiety is off the charts and I don't know what to do besides cry.

I to have to deal with a Narcissistic father and brother. I'm sick to my stomach anytime I have to be around them. I chose not to take anything for anxiety bc u may not have any when u really need them

Bupropion has really helped me, once combined with the lexapro....

Ativan helps some but I've been on it for over three yrs now. I've tried all the other meds but none of them worked. Never been on the other one though. But if you feel your Dr. isn't helping how you would like them to then there is nothing wrong with finding someone else

My PC doctor referred me to a psychiatrist who can better treat anxiety/depression and prescribe more appropriate meds than she prescribed.

The meds won't help if you are constantly in stress induced environments. I've noticed when I pull myself away from toxic people, my anxiety gets way better
