how do you manage anger outbursts and stay calm? i cant stop myself from slamming doors and punching walls. i guess what i’m really asking is how to stop yourself from being physical during this kind of thing. i don’t want to scare anyone in my house (obviously i’d NEVER touch them just to be clear) but i know they’re concerned about me and i don’t want them to be. like i wish i could just make myself lay down until it’s over but i just can’t.

As a kid I had a lot of pent up anger and when I was doing karate it helped w a lot of controlling that. I’m considering going back bc I’ve been feeling this way as well. Also it’s just something active to do with your time as well
I know this sounds cheesy but just running at like full strength until I'm out breath and aching helps so much especially if it's at night so no one can watch me sprinting in jeans lmao
@mushr00m I also love this for when I’m ready stressed too. (Going for runs)

@mushr00m okay wait this actually seems like it will work THANK YOU
Get you something to fidget with while you’re having the outbursts so your hands are occupied. Punch a pillow on the bed because you could really hurt yourself in a fit if rage by punching a wall or a door, try grounding points like someone having a panic attack would like find something to focus on, touch or smell that’s calming to you.
@Becfox i’ll try this next time thank you:)
