I've just realized I've been on high alert for the past two weeks. so TLDR: Our house is having some renovations done. the builder is a family friend, super nice, but I realized tonight that I'm super alert when they are working. they are here for 6hrs most days, and I just sit at my desk faking productivity to keep an ear and eye out. I'm planning on staying up tonight just so I'm so exhausted that I can sleep while they're here tomorrow. this sucks... they've been working for 2 weeks and likey have 1 1/2 more weeks of work.

I understand how you feel. The best advice I can give without knowing the source of your trauma or your triggers is to invite over a safe person to be with you while they're working, and when they aren't at your house, use the coping mechanisms that calm you. I hope this helps and I wish you the best
