heyyy. I'm new to the crew, was diagnosed when I was 2. I got reeeaaally sick after my 2 year shots, like I thought I was gonna d!e. and I was walking, talking and out of diapers at that point. after I got over my sickness, I regressed. I couldn't walk, wouldn't talk, and was back in diapers until my parents finally took me to a doctor to see what was wrong with me. A few visits later I was diagnosed with ASD. Its not severe, just barely on the spectrum, but it still counts right? I show multiple signs such as hypersensitivity to sounds and smells, avoiding eye contact, and inability to read social cues. can somebody give me some advice on how to cope and maybe some tips to avoid future meltdowns?

Hello welcome to being Autistic for coping strategies i personally tell my friends and family that i am autistic and my accomodations for public spaces for meltdowns find things you enjoy for after a sensory overwhelming place such as a bubble bath or a face mask or watching your favorite TV show whatever works for you for myself personally I also bring certain fidget items with me such as a ring that I can spin around a puppet toy to be able to work out by stimming another big thing is personally that I do publicly stem so I will tap my foot or shake my hands around or have kind of happy flappy hands
